And as of last year, a hybrid motor has joined the lineup, pairing an electric motor with a 3.3-liter V6 that combine to create 318-horsepower.
And with a seamless ten-speed automatic across the board, shifting has never been smoother.
For many, the Explorer is going to function as a people hauler, which is why today’s Explorer features third-row seating that is roomier and easier-to-access than ever before (mainly thanks to a one-touch button that moves the second-row seats).
Every Explorer also features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (a 10.1-inch screen in the upper trim levels) that is loaded with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot, along with a twelve-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, meaning no one will ever complain of being bored.
It also features a ton of safe-keeping technology like forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, all standard.
